Protology is the study of first things. An archetype is the primal or typical example of a thing. The Protological Archetype range of garments are a series in which the garments are reduced to the bare essence of the item, representing each product category. There is a pant, a shirt, a coat, a jacket, a hoodie and so on....Each garment reduced to it's essential components and form the foundation from which other variants in different complexity or simplicity will follow.
This example of the concept, developed as a women's coat made in 100% heavy linen that has been overdyed black.
the jacket is unlined and has a flared hem. it has two large patch pocket at front that are covered with a slim flap. the coat is unlined but closes with large horn buttons at front. the seams of the coat are completely overlocked, but has unfinished edges throughout for a rought hewn look.
