21.2 || PROTOLOGICAL ARCHETYPE CROPPED SHIRT || OD EMBROIDERED COTTON LINEN

Protology is the study of first things. An archetype is the primal or typical example of a thing. The Protological Archetype range of garments are a series in which the garments are reduced to the bare essence of the item, representing each product category. There is a pant, a shirt, a coat, a jacket, a hoodie and so on....Each garment reduced to it's essential components and form the foundation from which other variants in different complexity or simplicity will follow. 

This example of the concept, developed as a button front shirt, employs a new concept of cutting where the garment is reduced to the minimum seams necessary without compromising the fit or look of the product.
  The collar of the shirt is one piece and  is cut onto the body, the shirt has no side seam or underarm seam, but the entire body of the shirt is cut into one piece and shaped by contoured darts at strategic locations on the body of the shirt. The sleeve is a one piece constructed sleeve that retains all of the features of a traditional shirt sleeve but simplified according to the concept. the shirt is made from a 50/50 cotton linen blend  that has an embroidered detail on the fabric. the garment has a cropped body and has been overdyed our signature black, it closes at front with 100% horn buttons. The front of the shirt is cut along the selvedge edge of the fabric and the hem and collar are left raw but finished with hem tape to limit fraying.
