Protology is the study of first things. An Archetype being the primal or typical example of a thing. The Protological Archetype range of garments are a series in which the garments are reduced to the bare essence of the item, representing each product category. So there is a Pant, a shirt, a Coat, a Jacket, a Hoodie and so on....Each garment is reduced to it's essential components and form the foundation from which other variants in different complexity or simplicity will follow.
This example of the concept, was realized as a pair of pants with a new concept of cutting where the garment is reduced to the minimum seams necessary without compromising the fit or look of the product both the side seam and the back yoke seam has been eliminated from the pants. The pants has a single inseam and the pockets are cut and sewn directly into the body of the pants, finished at both ends with a darn stitch detail.
This version of the pants is made from vintage heavy linen that is over 46 years old with a herringbone texture with a paisley brocade detail woven at varying internals. Only three pairs of the pants is made in this fabric.
