The Original version of this shirt (shown in aqua linen) was made for my Mom in 1997. It was the shirt of an outfit she wore to the United States when she was migrating. As such the shirt is 23 years old. Knowing I am celebrating, she gave it to me last week. The design with the asymmetric Ribbon piping, was a signature piece of mine when I was a tailor in Jamaica. Often made in white linen.
The shirt has been reinterpreted and updated merging the past, with the present and the future.
The shirt has 30 hand stitches, representing 30 years of my sewing career.
23 of them will be produced in total, representing 23 years between the original and the current Anniversary edition.
10 in white for the ten years of Zfactorie artisanal manufacturing and thirteen in black as Kingston 13 was my "ZIP CODE" in Jamaica where I grew up.
The price is $130. Based on 10 x 13.
Thank you all for believing in my and allowing me to what I do.
